This is excellent so far, I love the work Alfabusa and his team put together.

I feel like these would probably get busted pretty quickly, people are goddamn animals in Walmart.

Yeah, that's what gets me: You're a source of insider info from one of the most anal retentive video game companies out there, and someone tied to a NEWS OUTLET wants to INTERVIEW you. If anything but a firm but polite "NO." Doesn't immediately spring into your head when asked for an interview, you might have brain problems.
Oh well, I'm sure we'll eventually get another leaker at some point.Scherier assured him it would be off the record. So it's pretty much on Scherier for being (his usual) piece of shit and Pyoro for being such a dumbass
I'm more confused as to why he accepted the interview.
I can't recall, wasn't Prime 4 being originally developed in partnership with NamcoBandai or something like that? I remember the game was in development hell for awhile there.

I actually really enjoy Samus' granular horizontal speed control, and partially speeding up will give her a better jump in general. No other 2D Metroid game does that: Her speed in every other game is very binary, you're either not moving, running, or speed boosting. I also really enjoy having the two different diagonal aim buttons as you can also crouch and fire straight up, doesn't get used too much but it's still handy.
Also restrictive wall jump a shit. It's one of the reasons why I have such immense dislike for the two Metroid games by Mercurysteam, I also feel another shitty thing they did was nerfing the screw attack. The whole point of that power up is to make end game backtracking nice and fluid as you just buzzsaw through everything that isn't a boss.
Edit: I should point out that as much as I love Super Metroid, one thing that never fails to bother me is how you can't resume a somersault after firing or taking a hit. Any ROM hack that allows you to resume flipping in the air is always a huge plus in my book. Project Base introducing the ability to manually use the super fast backflip that normally can only be triggered after taking a hit kicks ass too. I also want to add that linearly cycling through subweapons with a single button also sucks, the toggle method introduced in Fusion was pretty big brain. While I'm at it, Doctormario64 deserves a fuckin medal for adding the ability to lock your aim and strafe in AM2R.
Man I just really like 2D Metroid games.Honest, totally not loaded question for Super Metroid control apologists appreciators: I see a lot of people go "super metroid has the best movement out of all of the metroid games" and I have to ask: how much of that is just the wall jump? Because the wall jump in Super Metroid lets you go anywhere and do anything, and that's an enormous amount of freedom and sequence breaking that you gain in exchange for putting up with controls that are more awkward and floaty than the sequels and an input that is deliberately obtuse in order to accommodate it being a mostly optional high skill level technique that the game's progression is not designed around, vs just pressing against the wall and pressing jump again for an easy but more restrictive wall jump.
My opinion is mostly just that I dislike how Samus has a large amount of windup required to have horizontal distance on her jump, and the dash button is a blight upon both Samus' movement (she's very fast with it, but very slow without it) and the control layout, since aiming up and down requires two buttons meaning you can't put dash on a shoulder button without giving up one of them.
I've been trying to find a dumb video and searching for it sure as hell doesn't give me what I want, maybe I'm just shit at searching, but:
I've been looking for a video of a skeleton typing on a keyboard searching for like "Secksee skeletons" Then it cuts to it putting lube on his boney hand, then cutting to him working his bone until his hand goes flying off his wrist.

This looks nice but I am aggravated as all hell they're using another linear horizontal line for items. You'd think they would have come up with something more elegant by now rather than just copying what they did in BotW/TotK

That would make sense. Especially with that follow up post of "Manage your expectations"If the symbols is for one game only, defintely seems like it's Tomodachi Life.
A port of WWHD to the Switch? That'd be kinda cool if they tone down the supernova bloom, because there's a few things in WWHD that're really nice. Like the sped up grapple animation, sped up coasting speed on the boat, having dedicated buttons for the cannon and wench, and the cool aiming arc thing for the cannon. Though I'd prefer having the original overhead view when changing the wind from the Gamecube version.
I like pairing thorns with see you in hell because generally what happens is a Glyphid chomps me, I turn around and whack it once with a normal pickaxe strike and it dies.
Man my friend and I had the worst fucking start for a cave ever: We climbed out and there was one of those Scalebrambles shooting at us. We scatter because there was like a million fucking exploder Glyphids, I run off and run past two barrage infectors right next to eachother. Shortly after this I got grabbed by a Cave Leech.
Also this was a haunted cave, and the ghost was chasing my friend
Who got grabbed by another Cave Leech
we had some good runs though, and I wound up killing a Dreadnaught Hiveguard by using a see you in hell charge cus the bitch incapped me. It's great to be back, lol.
Oh and I wanted to point out something I found out the hard way: Thorns no longer works on those little Naedocyte Shockers. Which is a totally understandable buff, seeing as swarms of those little bastards would just immediately burst when they zap you.
I don't think "Boomer shooter" is a good fit for Selaco anyway. It takes more after FEAR than anything else.
Hey melee attacks that aren't just meant to be cutscene kills is good in my book.
Also they clearly copied me I'm gonna sue.
Man they really did just go all in on a gothic/medieval fantasy aesthetic for this one. I'm calling my lawyer.
I'm gonna try and draw more this month. It's funny because I often drag my feet on getting started on making art, then I hit a stride and really enjoy myself, I always feel better after finishing a piece. I also need to make sure I don't burn brain cells while I work on my Doom mods.
This makes sense because robots are cool.
I just wanna say that my rate for playing games on Steam on Linux Mint has been really goddamn high, the only two games I've tried and I've been unable to play are Laika: Aged through blood (The demo at least, ran HORRIBLY for me. Might be a graphics card issue though), and Superfighters Deluxe
But EDF 5, Deep Rock Galactic, and pretty much everything else in my library has worked without a hitch. I've always piped a few games through Steam/Proton and they've ran pretty well!
Overall my jump into Linux has gone pretty damn smooth, at this point my only real annoying problem I have is with Aseprite and how the cursor is rendered on the screen, and that seems to be specifically a Linux Mint + AMD Card problem. Which sucks, but I've just kinda dealt with it.
Part of the 0.10% here. Made the jump last June and haven't looked back since.

Love this game, dev was on point picking out tracker music because it adds a lot. It really does feel like one of those weird 64 games you'd rent from a Blockbuster and never find it in stores.
Hopefully Chrome's userbase plummets.
I'm trying to figure out if he really is just enamored with the cat or if there's another reason why he's doing this.
Damn I got another video I'm trying to find and I'm either horrid at searching or it's a case of someone just posting it without tagging it worth a damn:
It's a short video of an older Gundam series and the protagonist tries and fails to stab a Zaku with his beam saber as it runs out of energy just before it hits, and the whole thing is set to spongebob music.
Been following the progress of this one for awhile now. Ondy makes cool as fuck games and I'm super stoked for Peter Shorts!
The thing I'm taking away from this thread is learning the existence of flywheels and how fucking cool they are.

I felt that way at first the other night when I was talking about this with a friend. But after stopping and thinking about it, the Switch has had a pretty great run, in the span of these nine years we've had:
+Two mainline Mario games
+Two mainline Zelda games
+A mainline sidescrolling Metroid game
+The biggest Smash brothers game to date
+Two sequels to Splatoon
+Two mainline Kirby games
+Two (I think it was two?) mainline Pokemon games
This isn't even counting the numerous third party games and the metric shitload of E-shop games. And it feels like they did fuck all with it.
Okay this video seems to have been wiped off the face of the internet, but I'm trying to find that video of Dr. Phil saying "shut the hell up bitch" set to the song "no more I love yous". I have the link here but it's been privated, and it seems NO ONE ELSE has reuploaded it.

I hate how accurate this is to an average day as a Walmart employee, I still think about how relieved I was when they fired my ass. Also yeah that Sam Walton deepfake thing is horrid.
I wish to keep my account through trial by combat. I already own a sword, so I'm set there.
I always found it really strange we had some Monster Hunter elements in SSBU, I always figured the Hunter would be added as DLC.

To be fair, Terraria's melee combat isn't very good either. It's telling that end game melee weapons are all projectile firing weapons that require no mana or ammo. Also how the fuck did they not just copy Terraria's melee combat wholesale? They 'completely redid' combat like three times and it is still worse than Terraria, given you trade damage constantly
That was my beef with Eternal: It feels pretty rigid in how it plays. You either play the specific way the game wants you to, or you're gonna suffer. It doesn't help I played with a controller on the PS4 though, and I know the game got a few updates since launch when I played it, because I swear to christ the timing windows on countering Maruaders and that one big boss that carried a shield were fucky. Maybe one day I'll take another crack at it, though I still don't care for how melee works, and after all these years I'm STILL mad about how the Crucible sword takes ammo.
Still respect the game for being so divisive like this though, especially for a mainstream AAA game. Feels like you don't see this level of divisiveness on a game nowadays, it's usually "eh, it's okay" blandness or everyone collectively agrees a game is crap.
I got another one I'm looking for, and I'll be damned if I can find it. It was a really short video of a Bearded Dragon that gets up on its hind legs and runs off, and the audio in the background is a really sped up version of Rag Time Gal as sung by that Frog from those old Looney Tunes. I swear the video's name was like ragtimegal.mov, but I can't find it on youtube.
I forgot there was an enemy called Beanling.
